Description of poster design 

1ST PART 

• Birds on the top represent FREEDOM of the students, HELP gives student freedom to express ideas, to think and to challenge themselves 
• They will keep growing like the leaves and flowers

2ND PART 

• Sunflower and tree branches create the LOVE shape, which represent the meaning of love.
• Sunflower represents hopes of the student in HELP
• Yellow sunflower used because, YELLOW BLOSSOMS represents joy, happiness and energy and signify friendship
• Branches represents knowledge of students will be keep growing

3RD PART

• Roses (HELP) 
• Red roses (I love you) – courage, passion, respect, energy 
• Orange roses – desire of good result, confidence & satisfactions
• Leaves – personal growth and opportunities students can gain in HELP, more optimism
• Wood – student as tough as the wood

4TH PART 

•          Background sunflower represents HOPE
•      Uses Pink sunflowers because pink blossoms convey youth & joy

1. Tool used for 1st PART : Pencil Tool, Ellipse Tool, Wrap Tool to illustrate the body, eyes, beak and wing of the birds. Pencil Tool to draw the flowers, leaves and branches. 

2. Tool used for 2nd PART : Pencil Tool, Wrap Tool, Ellipse Tool to create the sunflowers, branches and flowers. And, Window >Brush Libraries > Artist Ink, 0.5pt used for the outline of sunflowers. 

3. Tool used for 3rd PART : Pencil Tool, Wrap Tool and Brush Libraries to draw the shapes of leaves, flowers and tree branches. 


4. Tool used for 4th PART : Pencil Tool used to flowers, Pen Tool used to draw leaves. transparency > opacity > 32%.

•          ROUND shape

  -          Orange flowers :- convey confidence
  -          Pink flowers :- fresh beginnings, youth (bright shades of pink – friendship       and fun)
  -          Red flowers :- intense, passionate, impulsive
  -          Purple flowers :- pride & success

• 'I' – brown color, color of earth and nature (toughness of student)

1. Tool used for 1st PART : Pen Tool (Add and delete anchor point), Wrap Tool, Smooth Tool  to illustrate the body of birds. 

2. Tool used for 2nd PART : Pencil Tool, Wrap Tool to draw the butterfly. Transparency > Opacity > 71%

3. Tool used for 3rd PART :(ROUND) Ellipse Tool create flowers, Pencil Tool, Line Segment Tool, Wrap Tool and Arc Tool to create leaves. 


4. Tool used for 4th PART : i - font is Berlin Sans FB Demi Bold, 119.78pt, brown color. Pencil Tool, Wrap Tool, Spiral Tool, Arc Tool illustrate love shape and flowers that filled up the love shape. HELP - font is Berlin Sans FB Demi Bold, 108.94pt, purple color.

•          Butterfly is a symbol of transformation, change and rebirth
  -          A reminder to make changer when opportunity arises

Visual Concept Analysis : 

1. Sunflower, represents the hope of students in HELP University.

2.  Leaves, according to Japanese is personal growth and opportunities student can gain from HELP University.

3.  Roses, means I love you. Represent love help and help will loves their students as well. Different color of roses symbolize different meaning.

·         Red roses, represent courage, passion, respect.

·         Yellow roses, signify friendship in HELP University and a promise of a new beginning studying in HELP University.

·         Orange roses, represent desire of good result in HELP University and HELP University will lead you to good future.

4. Branches, represent knowledge keep growing and students in HELP University

5. Wood, represent students in HELP University will become tougher.

6. Butterfly , which represents the change and rebirth of students in HELP University. Butterfly also symbolizes hopes and freedoms of students in HELP University. And, also represents good times in the future.

7. Bird, represents freedom. 

Color Theory Analysis : 

            1.       Red (flowers)

-          Emotionally intense color, catchy

-          Represents PASSION & DESIRE in HELP University.

2.       Green (leaves)

-          Symbolizes nature, calming, freshness, dark green also associated with money

-          Represents HARMONY &GROWTH of students in HELP University.

3.       Brown (wood)

-          Color of earth, abundant in nature

-          Represents the TOUGHNESS of students in HELP University.

4.       Yellow (sun)

-          Cheerful, color of sunshine

-          Represents JOY, HAPPINESS & ENERGY of students in HELP University.

5.       Red roses

-          Represent courage, passion, respect in HELP University

6.       Yellow roses

-          Signify friendship, promise of a new beginning in HELP University

-          Desire of good result and good future in HELP University

Typography Theory Analysis : 

The typography for my poster design is designed as stylized flowers, leaves, tree and branches all around the alphabet characters. I referred to the work of a typography artist, Joseph Balthazar Silvestre. 

Elements of Design Analysis 

1.      Line

-          I used curved, horizontal line, vertical line, wavy and parallel line in my 3 poster design.

2.      Shape

-          All the shapes of flowers, leaves, tree, wood and branches are creating by line and color that helps to define the edges. Shapes are created in natural form.

3.      Value

-          Low contrast of the color used for this 3 poster designs.

4.      Color

-          For this 3 poster design, Tertiary colors. Examples, red, green, brown and yellow.  Different color represents different meaning. In addition, different color can draw the attention to a particular part of the image.

5.      Texture

-          Implied texture applied in the 3 poster design, which makes the image looks smooth and soft.

6.      Alignment and proportion

-          The proportion for 3 poster design is equal. For example, the leaves, flowers, wood, birds, butterfly arrange equally. While the alignment have horizontal, vertical and sloping.

7.      Eye movement

-          For the 3 sketches, initially eye movement will be focused on the flowers which create all around the alphabet characters. And, mostly reddish colors used to indicate areas that received most attention of the viewers. The green branches areas indicate slightly less attention. The light color areas received minimal attention as a background of the poster.

Principle of Design Analysis 

1.      Hierarchy

-          For the 3 poster design, the center of interest is the title of “I LOVE HELP”. I used flowers, trees and branches to create the alphabet in order to attract people attention and makes it more outstanding.

2.      Balance

-          Symmetrical balance is applied on the 3 poster designs.

3.      Proximity

-          The flowers (roses and sunflowers), birds, butterfly, leaves, wood and the branches are placed closely on the design.

4.      Rhythm / Repetition

-           The 3 poster design will show the repetition of flowers (roses and sunflowers), trees,  woods, and leaves.  The same sizes and patterns of flowers and leaves.

5.      Scale

-          The sizes of the flowers, birds, butterfly, trees, branches and leaves are same and equal for the 3 poster design.

6.      Unity / Variety

-          For the 3 poster design, the design repeating a similar shape and sizes of leaves and flowers, but changing in the color, therefore it gives variety and unity at the same time.
